Slow Dance

This poem was written by a girl who has cancer and only has six months to live. It really makes you think about life and how fast you look at the world. Read this and see if you actually do this yourself. This story was given to me in an e-mail please send this to as many people as you can the instructions are at the bottom. She gets three cents every time this poem is sent to help with her treatments. This a true story. I am not making this up she really did write this.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day On the fly?
When you ask "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say "Hi"?
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

Letter to Margaret Petterson Haddix

This is my entry for the Letters of Literature contest.

Dear Margaret Peterson Haddix,

Your book Among the Enemy really inspired me to stand up for what I believe in. I was inspired by the way Matthias was so brave and how he was so loyal to his friends, Alia and Percy. Also, I admired how he fought against the Population Police to help free the “shadow children.” Matthias had great and loyal friends that would do anything for him. I only wish that I could be a friend like that to my own friends.

Reading Among the Enemy made me realize how badly people could be treated in the world. I am reminded at how good it feels to live in a world that is free. I am glad that I don’t have to worry about how much food I have left to eat or how many people are in my family. If my own family was in this book we would not have been able to keep my little brother because of the laws that the Population Police had passed. Your book also saddened me because I didn’t realize some people could be so selfish and keep all that food for them self.

Your book was very meaningful to me because it made me think of what I would have done in the same situations and how I would have reacted to them. It made me think of how I could be a better person, to be less selfish and to think of others before myself. Matthias was a great example of those qualities.

Out of all the characters in the book I would compare myself to Matthias. We are very alike in a way and very different in another way. One way we are alike is by the way we react to things. If I heard that my best friends had died I would have been devastated just like Matthias. Matthias and I are also different because I don’t think I could have gotten the courage to escape from the Population Police the way he did. Just the very thought of getting caught would have kept me from escaping from their headquarters. I really envy Matthias for his bravery and how he handled things in the story.

Your book really grasped my attention. I did not want to put the book down. Reading it was like watching a really great mystery movie in my mind. I could picture the characters and how they felt in each situation that they were faced with. In fact, I have read your other Shadow Children books and I am on Among the Free. I keep reading your books because I can relate to each of the main characters. I look forward to reading your next book to see if they could finally be free in the world and defeat the Population Police at last.

Well, those are some of my feelings about your book, Among the Enemy. You truly inspired me!!! Your book was very meaningful and made me look at the world with different eyes. It made me realize how great it is to live in a free world and to have enough food to feed the whole country. Most importantly, it made me grateful to have a big family who can take care of me. Thank you so much for writing this book. It really made me contemplate on my own life experiences.

Thanksgiving Break!!!

Have you ever had a blast one week where you couldn't stop thinking about it. Well, I have over the Thanksgiving break we just had. I had such a blast. I had a great dinner, went to a movie, and got great sales on a bunch of stuff.

I think this year in my opinion was the best Thanksgiving dinner ever. We had everything that you could eat for a Thanksgiving dinner. We had turkey, marshmallow yams, stuffing, mashed potatoes, rolls, etc. And for dessert Pumpkin and Banana cream pie. All my favorites, but I could do without the marshmallow yams and mashed potatoes. We had Thanksgiving dinner at my grandma's house with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. After we were all done eating (and showed my family VITAS) we went to a movie.

I watched the movie Enchanted. I have to say it wasn't the best movie in the world, but it was pretty funny. The story line was a great idea. Having it be a cartoon at the beginning, then having it become in real live. I am not going to tell you about it in case you have never seen it and are going to be watching it sometime in your life time. Going to a movie wasn't the best part of the Thanksgiving break. What I loved the most was the after day Thanksgiving sales at all the stores.

To me personally I think that the best days to go shopping for Christmas presents is the day after Thanksgiving. Just because that all the stores have huge sales. It is also fun to go to the sales because some of them start so early in the morning. Last year I woke up at about four o'clock and went shopping. I got great deals. This year I did it differently. My dad didn't want to wake up so early again so we went at about seven o'clock in the morning. We went to RC Willie, Target, Game Stop, and Radio Shack. We got a bunch of stuff that was regularly thirteen dollars for only four bucks. What a great buy!

I will never forget that Thanksgiving for the rest of my life. I had such a great time having a great dinner, going to a movie and best of all going to the after Thanksgiving sales. Did you have a blast for Thanksgiving? What did you do?

2 Great People

These ares some facts about two great leaders.

Chief Joseph

The Chief of the Nez Perce was converted to the religion of Christianity. He gave himself a new name, it became Joseph. When he got a son he named him Joseph. When Chief Joseph died his son became the new Chief Joseph.
There was a treaty that gave land to the Nez Perce. On the land gold was discovered. The chief had a plan. His plan was to help the whites look for gold so they would leave faster. That plan didn’t work the Nez Perce lost 90% of their land.
In the month of June and in the year of 1877 the Indians still had problems with the whites. The Indians were getting frustrated. So they shot the whites. The Indians got scared and moved. It took them 180 days. It was 170 miles long.
There was an Indian named Napoleon. He was a very smart. He always stayed 1 foot in front of the Calvary. Calvary means mounted men on horseback.
General Howard tried to go over Lolo Pass. It was a hard trip they were running out of food. There were also winds. General Howard was waiting for Chief Joseph and his tripe so that Howard’s men could ambush them. But the Indians went on a different path that was only wide enough for a goat. Howard called that Fort Fizzle, because the Nez Perce escaped.
The Nez Perce thought that the Crow tribe would help them fight the whites. The Crow knew that if they joined them that the whites would come after them. So they said no.
General Howard finally caught Chief Joseph. He lived for 80 days after he was caught.
Ninety percent of the public wanted Chief Joseph to win. The rest wanted General Howard to win.

Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln was shot in 1865. He was born in Kentucky. His grandfather’s name was also Abraham. He was the president who did not like slavery. Abraham was very tall. He was 6.4 ft and weighed 185 lbs. he said that his wife was as handsome as she was as a young school girl. His house was a two story building. He had a dog which he gave away. Lincoln left Springfield to Washington. He didn’t know if he would ever be back. He grew a beard. Lots of people wanted to kill Lincoln. So he had lots of bodyguards to protect him. He was the man who gave the speech which is known now as the Gettysburg Address. His wife spent a lot of money nourishing the house including her. She spent 20,000 dollars. He said that he would not pay it as long as soldiers didn’t have blankets. Lincoln’s son was very sick. He grew weaker and weaker each day. The cause of his sickness was the bad water he was drinking. He had Typhoid fever. He died. Lincoln was devastated. Lincoln got over the death of his boy and got ready for war. They built Ironclads. One was made with a rotating gun. The others were made with cannons. Lincoln sent Gen. McClellan to Richmond, Virginia. Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It permitted some states in the south to be free. He did not free all of them because he was scared that they would join the confederates. Lincoln gave some great speeches that will be forever remembered. Lincoln believed that all Negros and all whites were equal. He got very sad when the list of who was dead and who was wounded would come. The only time he would ever feel peace was in his office on his knees praying. The hardest thing for Lincoln to find was a general who would fight with the soldiers. The south was not shot to death they were choked and strangled to death. Gettysburg is in Pennsylvania. The battle of Gettysburg was started by a confederate who went into a shoe store and bumped into a union soldier. It was the turning point of the war. If the union would have lost the confederates would have taken Washington D.C.

Pet Peeves

When you hear the word pet peeve what do you think of? I think of something annoying, irritating or just something that bugs me. What I think is interesting about pet peeves is that everyone has one and they are all different. Not everyone gets bugged by only one thing. Say for instance that chewing gum really irritates me (it really does not), but it does not irritate my friend. I think that is so weird that only certain things bug people. My pet peeves seem really strange to other people because you would have never thought that that could be a pet peeve. One of my strange pet peeves is running water. I just can't stand the sound of water being wasted. My mom gets frustrated because when she is washing her hands. I turn the water off just when she is about to rinse her hands off. Another example is when my brother is brushing his teeth. I turn off the water just when his mouth is full of toothpaste.

Another pet peeve of mine is people who do not cover their mouth when they sneeze of cough. It is just so inconsiderate to other people around you. I know that it seems like it is just a natural thing to be considerate and cover your mouth, but people don't do it. Like for instance I was just at my SEOP yesterday and the counselor had like a cold or something and just about every five minutes they would just start hacking up a lung. The worst part of it all was that they didn't cover their mouth. I just felt like I was going to die. So, I covered my mouth so it would help filter out the germs. I hope that helped because I don't want to get sick and so far I am not. There have been times where I have gotten sick because people don't cover their mouths. And those people are my brothers. They can be so rude sometimes. All of them know that I hate people who don't cover their mouths. So, they purposely just cough and sneeze one me. I get so mad at them. And the worst part of it is that the next day I got sick. Now, that really got me mad. So, now when someone in my family gets sick I bring a can of Lysol with me every were I go and when they coughed I sprayed. But that was a while ago I am getting better with that pet peeve. Like I still care and all it is just I don't spray people with Lysol anymore.

Well, those are my worst pet peeves. Now you know that I do not like wasting good clean water and do not like people not covering their mouths when they cough or sneeze. So, what are some of your pet peeves? Are they unique like mine? Are they the same as mine or complete opposites? Think about it, then leave a comment.

Cassie's Butterfly Project!

This is a story that I just wrote about one week ago. It is about a girl in the second grade class who is doing a butterfly project. She learns about Painted Lady butterflies and their four part life cycle. I wrote this story for my science class project. Tell me if you like it and ways that I can improve it. Please comment on it it helps me a lot.

Cassie was in Mrs. Penny’s 2nd grade class. They were starting a project on butterflies. Cassie’s teacher said that they would be getting Painted Lady caterpillars and that they would turn into butterflies about 2 weeks later. Painted Lady butterflies are a yellowish orange, black and white. When the caterpillars came everyone was excited. Each one came in its own separate container. They were all ready filled with food so there was no need to open the container. Caterpillars spend most of the time eating Leaves using their strong mandibles. They would be observing the caterpillars over the next few weeks to see how they have changed (observing means to watch.)After a few days the container has lots of silk looking webs and the caterpillar was a lot longer. Cassie’s 2nd grade class was learning a lot about butterflies. They had learned the life cycle of a butterfly was made up of 4 parts. First was the egg, then the larva, after the larva was the pupa, and last was the adult. More days pasted and the caterpillars were hanging on the top of the lid in a J shape. That is called the J form. That meant that they were getting closer to becoming butterflies. Next they formed a chrysalis. That meant that next they would be adults soon because they were already on the third step. Cassie was getting more and more excited each day. She learned that butterflies were insects. She also learned that a butterfly’s body was covered by tiny sensory hairs.

The two weeks were almost done so they took the lids off very carefully and put them in a butterfly net. The net provided a place where they could fly around without escaping. One day while Cassie was in class someone noticed that one of the butterflies had broken out of the chrysalis and was flying around. Then one by one the others did the same. Pretty soon they all were flying around. Mrs. Penny said that it was time to let them go. So, we all went outside. She gave us each a butterfly, and then we let them go. Butterflies are found all over the world and live in all different types of environments so I knew that they would be okay. I loved watching the caterpillars turn to butterflies. It was a great experience. It was amazing that they could change so much just in 2 weeks.I went home that day ready to tell a great story to my parents about how I learned about Painted Lady butterflies and their four part life cycle.

Trick or Treat

Halloween is a great time of year. All the scary movies, decorations and who can forget about all the candy! Yummy! That is the best part of Halloween I think. I love all the candy you get when you go trick or treating. Speaking of trick or treating I just about wasn't going to go. My parents said that I was too old. I mean to old come on my 30 year old aunt goes trick or treating still. So any way I thought that was a lame excuse. They told me that I couldn't go about a week before Halloween so that gave me time to persuade my parents on letting me go. During that time I got invited to lots of Halloween parties, some on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and two on Halloween. Well, I thought at lat I can go to the ones on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday, but what do I do about the ones on Halloween. Should I go to one of the parties or trick or treat (if can). I choose to go trick or treating because my parents finally said yes to me going and I wasn't going to pass that opportunity up. Now what am I going to be for Halloween?

I have never repeated a Halloween costume that I have been. So, I wasn't going to that this year. Hmmmm.... what to be, what to be. "I've got nothing," I thought. So why don't I just go with my friend Kristin( if you want to see what she looks like go into the old Honors English class two years ago under Lizzy Wallin. Scroll down until she shows pictures of her family.) Anyway back to the story. Where was I..., ah what to be for Halloween. So, Kristin came over and we decided to be Spa Princesses. The costume was made up of a robe, pajamas, etc. It was going to be a comfortable year for Halloween.

Well, Halloween was here we got ready together then set out for trick or treating. We went everywhere it seemed like. We lot loads of candy. At one house they gave out hot dogs, hot chocolate, and regular sized candy bars. As soon as I got the hot chocolate, being the clumsy person that I am, I spilled it all down my robe because the lid was not on all the way. That was the only bad thing that happened to me while trick or treating. After trick or treating in one neighborhood we went to another and got lots there.

We were done trick or treating about ten o' clock a night. I had a huge science test in Cobia's class that I had to study for so I couldn't go to bed even though I was deathly tired.

That was a great year of trick or treating. I am sad that my parents say that that was my last year, but hey, that is what they said this year so maybe it is not. What did you do for Halloween? Did you go trick or treating? What were you? Please feel free to comment on my blogs. I would love to hear from you.

UEA Weekend

I know I write a lot of stories about me and my friends, but we just do so much. So here is another story on what we did over UEA weekend.

On Friday of last week my friends and I decided to stay in the Hampton Inn over UEA weekend. So on Monday we all went over there. As soon as we were all ready (which was about 3:45) we walked over to Starbucks and got some food. Then we went over to Old Navy. They had great deals like skirts originally 20 bucks were 97 cents. What a great buy! So anyway we got some clothes then headed back to the hotel. We put everything away then left to the mall. They also had great deals. Like for instance in Forever Young we got shoes for 3 dollars and 50 cents. The deal was get a shoe for 11 dollars and 95 cents then get another for free so that makes it about 6 bucks. Then she gave us a coupon for 5 dollars off so the total for two pairs of shoes was 7 bucks. The shoes are freak in cute. After that we went back to the hotel we got ready for dinner.

Dinner was great. We went to Olive Garden. When we were finished with dinner we went back to the mall and got some more clothes. It was about 8:00 when we got back and swam.

Swimming in the Hampton Inn with all of your friends is awesome! You should try it sometime. The only down side of the pool is that it was only 5 feet deep, but at least it has a hot tub. The hot tub was nice because the jets shot up ward so it looked like it was boiling. When were done swimming and showered off it was 9:30. We were getting bored so we walked over to Target and got some Rock Stars. Then walked to Jamba Juice and got another drink before it closed. Then went back to the hotel and listen to music and watched TV until it was 3:45 in the morning. We were getting hungry so we called a cheap pizza place like Little Ceasers. Surprising they answered, but they said it was closed. Then my friend started talking with him more. Then he handed his phone to his manager and his manager told us that he would bring a 3 hour old pizza over to our hotel. He came over and met him and he was a pretty nice guy. We got the pizza ate it then went to bed at 5:00 in the morning. We were not looking forward to go to breakfast in the morning.

We were all sleeping when we got a knock on our door. It was her little brother saying they were going to miss breakfast if we didn't come down there that instant. So we woke up and ate. We got a late check out so we could swim again. The hot tub felt so good because I was pretty cold. We only had a short swim because check out was soon. So we got out, showered, and packed our stuff to go home. As soon as I got home and fell asleep. I was so tired that day.

About Ashlee

This is a little something that I wrote about my friend Ashlee. She is a great friend. I met her in Elementary. I was sad when I moved away from her. I will never for get Ashlee. Read this so you will know a little about her

The Amazing Ashlee

At first glance Ashlee looks like an ordinary person, but she is not that at all. I have known Ashlee since we were in 1st grade. She is smart, pretty and does many things in her life. Ashlee is a very intelligent person, but she can also act like a “dumb blond” at the same time.

Ashlee is one of the smartest people I know. She gets lots of A's on her report card. I don't even think she has gotten any thing lower than an A in her classes. Although Ashlee is very smart school wise, she is not smart in the real world. She asks a lot of questions like, "Do octopuses eat ships?" I mean come on! Ashlee was even in 6th grade when she asked that question. She also doesn't realize certain things that I would think ordinary people would realize. Like the time when she got out of class with her shoes on the wrong feet. When I asked her about it she said that she couldn't feel the difference. Being smart (school wise) is not all Ashlee has going for her.

Ashlee is very pretty. She is very tan and has dark brown hair that goes down to her lower back. She is barely 5 feet and is in the 9th grade. Even though she is short she is very muscular, which makes her a very strong person. The reason I think she is so strong is because she has been in dance for about 11 or 12 years. Besides being strong and pretty she also does many unique things.

Ashlee does many different things in her life. An example of Ashlee being that happened when we were over at our friend's house making popcorn for a movie. Once the popcorn was done she tasted it then spit it out and said, "It needs more salt!" She hurried over, grabbed the salt and put about a half of cup in it. Then she tasted it again and said, "That's more like it." Another example of her doing unique things is when she pops her back. Every time I see Ashlee she is either popping her back or doing some kind of twisting. I think she does that a lot because she is on the cheerleading squad for North Layton Jr. High. She has made it every time she has tried out. I bet she will even make it when she goes to high school next year.

Ashlee may seem like an ordinary person, but as you can see she is not. In my opinion Ashlee is a very amazing person. So the next time you see a person who is smart, pretty and can do many unique things think of Ashlee.

The loose Tooth

This a story that I wrote in 8th grade. Tell me what you think of it and what I could do to improve it.

The Loose Tooth

In the town of Cheeseville lived a family of five. There were two girls named Sarah and Ashlee, their brother Mike, and their mom and dad. Ashlee, Sarah and Mike loved to play soccer. They were even on the same team. One day they were playing a soccer game. The score was 6 to 5 with 15 seconds left. They were loosing. Ashlee had the ball, she passed it to Mike, he passed it to Sarah and all of a sudden, ‘Smack’. They all ran into each other. “Oww,” they screamed. Score! The other team just made a point. The game was over. The score was 5 to 7, they lost. As they were driving home Ashlee felt her teeth and one of them were loose. “Ahh,” she screamed, “my tooth is loose!” “It’s ok,” said mom. “That’s good because you will get money if you put in under your pillow,” said Mike. “Wow, that’s awesome,” said Sarah.

When they got home and changed their clothes, Ashlee was curious about her loose tooth so she went to ask Mike about it. “Mike,” she said, “tell me about my loose tooth.” “Well,” said Mike, “the tooth fairy will come in the middle of the night and she will take the tooth that you put under your pillow. She replaces it with some money,” said Mike. “Really, how much?” asked Ashlee. “Well it depends on the tooth,” said Mike. “I am going to pull it out right now,” said Ashlee.
“Mom will you pull out my tooth?” asked Ashlee. “Sure, but only if it’s ready,” said mom. “It has to be!” exclaimed Ashlee. “It’s stuck!” mom said. “What?” asked Ashlee. “Honey, I’m sorry but you will just have to wait until it’s ready,” said mom. “I don’t want to wait,” said Ashlee, “I’ll just tie a string to my tooth and connect it to the door knob and then pull.” So Ashlee got some string and Sarah to help her shut the door. She tried it, but it didn’t work. It just hurt really badly. She thought since it hurt it was looser so she tried having Sarah punch her in the face, but that hurt even more. She finally gave up and decided to go downstairs to have a snack.

Ashlee decided to have an apple. After that she went to talk with her dad. Ashlee asked, “Dad, when do loose teeth come out?” Dad said, “It depends on how loose your tooth is. Let me wiggle it so I can see how loose it is.” “Ok!” Ashlee exclaimed. “What tooth is it?” said dad. “It’s the tooth on the top, to the left,” said Ashlee. “There’s no tooth there,” he said, “it already fell out.” Ashlee said, “Wow, how…oh my goodness where do you think it went? Oh… my apple. It’s probably in my apple.” She hurried and ran downstairs into the kitchen. “My tooth,” she said, “I’m going to put it under my pillow right now”, said Ashlee.

The next day she woke up early and found $5.00 under her pillow. Ever since then she always looked forward to the next time she would have a loose tooth.

Vacation Time!

My family and I always go to Florida every other year. So let me tell you a little bit about my last visit there. We had to get many things prepared before we left, like shop for shorts, sandals, sunglasses, etc. So the day finally came that we would leave. We went to the airport got our tickets printed, dropped of our luggage and got on the plane. I don't know about you, but I am terrified of airplanes. I hate highs, and the thought of falling was just too unbearable for me. So I criedwhen we took off, turned, and landed. We had a layover in Atlanta for about 2 hours, then we got back on the plane, and again I cried during those three things. Then finally we landed in Orlando, Florida. We got our luggage and headed to our hotel. We only stayed in that hotel for 3 days and then we went to the Disney World hotel. I was awesome! It was way better than our last hotel.

Our family had planned what we were going to do for the rest of the week. First we were going to Magic Kingdom in Disney World. So when that day came we got up early so we could catch the shuttle bus that would take us there. I would have to say that that park was not my favorite. It wasn't that fun because it was all baby rides. I hoped that the next day would be more fun.

So the next day came. That day we decided to go to MGM studios. I had so much fun it had a lot of neat shows. Like a car stunt show, Indiana Jones, and Pirates of the Caribbean. I was sad that when we had to leave.

The next day was raining so we just went to see a movie. The movie was Shrek the Third. That show is hilarious. You just have to see it.

I was glad that the next day didn't rain because that was the day that we went to Universal Studios and Island of Adventure. Out of those two Island of Adventure is more fun. Universal is just so OLD. It needs some new rides. Island of Adventure on the other hand has new rides and they have great coasters, like the Incredible Hulk, Woody the Wood Pecker, The Dueling Dragons, The Unicorn, etc.

I only had two more days left in Florida and one of the days was traveling back. So basically I only had one. And on that one day I had a very neat experience. That day we traveled to the Banana River. That was the spot where everyone watched the space shuttle lift off. It was an amazing experience I will never forget.

The next day we traveled home. Which I hated, one the airplane ride ( it was way bumpy,) two leaving the most awesome vacation spot ever. I can't wait to go there again in two years.

Party!

One of my favorite times that I had with my friends was going to a party at Audrey's house. I don't think I will ever forget that day. It all started at lunch all of my friends were planning out what we would do the coming up weekend. Finally we decided that we would go over to Audrey's house for a scary movie and a sleepover. Well, it was a few days before her party and she wasn't at school. I really didn't think much of it at the time because she could just be at the dentist. The next day came and she still wasn't there. Now I was getting worried. What if she doesn't come to school on Friday? Did that mean that Audrey's party was going to be canceled? After thinking that, I decided that I was going to call her after school. School finally got over and I rushed home to call her. When she answered I asked her why she wasn't coming to school she said that she was sick, but was still planning on the party the next day. Hearing those specific words I was relieved that it was not canceled.

Friday finally came and Audrey still was not at school. "Great", I thought, "No Audrey no party." I talked with my friends during lunch to see what we would do. We decided to call Audrey again to make sure that she wasn't having it and if she wasn't then my other friend Alyssa would have it at her house. Once school got over we called her. She said that she was feeling fine and wouldn't miss this party for anything. I was again relived that the party was still on. So I went home got all of my sleepover stuff and went to her house. We waited outside for our friends' cars to come by. By the time everyone came over it was late. They put their stuff in Audrey's house then we walked to Boman's (I really like Boman's because the donuts are cheap, unlike Smiths or Dans) and got some snacks. "It's getting late," someone said, "maybe we should head back." So we went back to Audrey's house. We then remembered that there was a Layton/Davis game going on. We wanted to go to that, but it was way too dark to walk so Mrs. Hall (Audrey's mom) drove us. Davis lost by a land slide. Its team wasn't that good. The game was not that fun, so we went home.

It was time for the scary movie. Not everyone was brave enough to watch it only me, Alyssa, Alexis, Mariah, Danny, Audrey, Teal and Jessica. Everyone else just went downstairs. I have to admit that "Pulse" is a pretty scary movie FOR BABIES! It was the dumbest show I have ever seen. It was a big waist of my time. I can sum up the movie in 17 words. Computer virus takes over and the main character has to live a new life in the country. Boring! Anyway back to the story. So once the movie was over we decided to go to bed. We woke up late and ate breakfast. I had to leave a bit earlier because I had things to do that day.

I loved that party! I am glad to have such great friends who are way fun. We plan to have parties like that soon.

A Crazy Day!

Have you ever had a really exciting day were a few days later you still can't stop thinking about it? Well, that happened to me two years ago and I still remember it. It all started when I came home from school. I hurried and did my homework because my friend Alyssa and I were going to hang out later on that day at her house. Once I finished my homework, my mom took me over.

Everything seemed to go great. We were watching movies, playing on the computer and doing other fun stuff. I really didn't think anything out of the ordinary was going to happen that day. Well, a few hours past and her parents went out to dinner so we were going to watch her two little brothers until they came home. We played some games with them and ate some dinner. Then about 7 o'clock we got a phone call from the neighbor down the street saying, "Get everyone inside and lock all the doors." We hurried and made sure everyone was inside and we locked all the doors. We didn't really know what was going on. So we called Alyssa's parents, but they didn't answer.

It was getting late and we still did not have any idea what was going on. Then all of a sudden, we saw all these police cars outside of her house. They were everywhere, even down the street. We were all panicking and Alyssa's parents still weren't home. We got all of her brothers and stayed in the living room together. Then we saw something moving outside in the backyard. It was a cop who was looking all around her swing set with a gun in his hand. We were all freaking out! I have never in my life seen a crime scene in action until that day. Stuff like this usually happens on TV, where the cops have the house surrounded and they are searching for someone and all the people inside are scared.

Her parents came home a few minutes later and we told them what we had seen. Everything seemed to go back to normal. Her neighbor called again and explained everything that had happened. This is what she said, "A couple that lived down the street were having some problems. The husband threatened her so she called the cops. The husband ran through other people's back yards trying to escape. The cops found the man and took him away." Now it all made sense.

Well, it was pretty late and I had to go home. My mom picked me up and I told her what had happened. She was surprised that that had happened while I was at Alyssa's house. That was the craziest day of my life. It was also very exciting and I am never going to forget that day for as long as I live. So now I am going to ask you, the reader, what was your most crazy day?

First Day!

It was the day before school started. I was so excited. I didn't know how I was going to sleep that night. I got everything ready for school, my backpack, binders, pencils and paper. I picked out a cute outfit and set my alarm. Then I forced myself to sleep. You know the feeling when it is pitch black outside and someone jumps out and scares you. That is exactly how I felt when my alarm woke me up at 6:45 in the morning. I couldn't believe that they made school start at 8:05. Once I got ready I ate breakfast then went off to school. I had gotten my schedule last week, so I knew where to go and how to open my locker. I was a little nervous about what lunch I had. It all depended on my 5th period class.

My first class was Peer Support. It seemed to be a fun class. I was glad that she wasn't giving us a disclosure on the first day. She just told about the class and what our responsibilities were. My second period class was Science. Science on the other hand we did get a disclosure. Just like all the rest of my 5 classes, except Seminary. Finally it was 5th period. I listened intensely as they read off the teachers names that had 1st lunch. I didn't hear my name so that meant I had second. As soon as class was over I ran to my friends and asked what lunch they had. They all had second except for one of my friends. I felt bad for her, but yet was also excited to be with the majority of my friends. I hurried to the lunch room to get in line. Second lunch in my opinion is not as good as first. There is hardly and good food left. It is all picked over from first lunch, so all that is left if mushy apples, bruised bananas, or even worse no pizza. Pizza in my opinion is pretty good compared to all the other stuff they serve in school. So if it is not there I get pretty mad. Luckily they had enough that day.

After lunch I went to all of my classes and got all the disclosures. Finally it was five minutes before we got to go home. It was like waiting to open presents on Christmas morning. DING DING DING schools out! I rushed to my locker put all of my stuff in my backpack and headed off towards home. I told my mom everything that I did that day. The first day wasn't as fun as I hoped to be, but it was still fun to see all of my friends. I thought that it was pretty cool that I got to choose were to sit in most of my classes. I guess the teachers trust us more to be capable to sit were we want. I am taking a lot of great classes this year and I am excited to be in 9th grade.

Hello World!
