Compare Books

Scout and Salamanca are both alike and different in many ways. They are alike because they both learn the same life lesson. They are different because they both don’t learn that life principle in the same life situation. Here is an example why they are alike.

Scout and Salamanca are alike in that they both learn that they don’t really know a person unless they have lived how they have lived and been in their life situations. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Scout learns that lesson from Atticus when he says, “You never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them.” That is a good life lesson that I think that a lot of people should follow. It helps people understand situations that other people are facing. It will also help people to not judge. In Walk Two Moons, Salamanca learns the same type of lesson when her neighbor leaves a note saying, “Don’t judge a man until you have walked two moons in his moccasins.” They are both alike, but they also have some differences.

The differences in Scout and Salamanca are that they grasp the same life principle but just in different ways. In To Kill a Mocking Bird, Scout learned the principle by having her dad tell her and by having a good example showing her the outcome of what happens when you do judge. In Walk Two Moons, Salamanca learns the principle by reading an anonymous note quoting the principle. She only realizes and actually follows the life principle when she finds out about her mother’s son.

In conclusion the books To Kill a Mocking Bird and Walk Two Moons are very different and are alike. They learn the same life principle, but they learn it in different ways. I really enjoyed both of those books and I was very interesting to me to learn what people really went through and still go through now days.
